DJ SHADOW
DJ Shadow is currently touring the 30th anniversary of his seminal debut album, Endtroducing. I was asked to cover his performance at the Portola Music Festival in SF. We made a quick and dirty video for socials, as well as some film photos.
Deepening my relationship with DJ Shadow is definitely a pinch-me moment (Shout out to Derick Daily). I grew up in Bristol, home of Trip-Hop (Massive Attack + Portishead) and DJ shadow made a huge impact on that scene. I DJ’d in small clubs in my late teens and was obsessed with sample/turntablist culture.

This summer I reunited with a longtime collaborator from my Google days to build a new brand campaign for LinkedIn's Small Business team. Customer testimonials might be my favorite kind of corporate storytelling. The challenge is working the product in without losing the authenticity.
The first two films took us to Boulder, CO, and to my own backyard in West Marin. A stills campaign from my on-set photography is also rolling out, including a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal.
URBAN REMEDY
Urban Remedy wanted a brand refresh. As Creative Director, I developed a simple concept we could pull off on a very small budget. With some lovely talent and the beautiful Bolinas Ridge, we did.
I directed, shot, and edited this one solo, which I rarely get to do these days. It felt good to flex the filmmaker muscle.
The real win was the music. I'd versioned a few tracks across genres, then Rockabilly struck me as the left-field choice. I love how it plays against the visuals.
PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Nothing makes me feel more creatively fulfilled than taking photos, especially on film. My strike rate is about 10x higher with film. I know it's a cliché, but it's true for me. Here are a few favorites from the last few months, all shot on film with my Leica MP, Leica Minilux and Minolta Riva Panorama.
